A smart tip as we head into fall:

Most employers allow you to elect HSA contributions during open enrollment (typically October/November for 2026 plans). Here’s why that matters:

You don’t have to save up all year.
Most HSA administrators front-load your full annual election amount on January 1, even if you contribute gradually from each paycheck.

That means if you select a $3,000 or $5,000 HSA contribution during this year’s open enrollment, you’ll have access to the full balance on January 1, 2026 — perfect timing for postpartum recovery in the new year.
